Dean Jobb writes historical true crime. He is the author of The Case of the Murderous Dr. Cream, which won the inaugural CrimeCon CLUE Award and was longlisted for the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction. His latest book, A Gentleman and a Thief, is a Canadian bestseller and a New York Times Editors' Choice. Esquire magazine hailed his bestselling 2015 book Empire of Deception as one of the 50 best biographies of all time. Dean's true crime column, "Stranger Than Fiction," appears in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine and he has written for Air Mail, CrimeReads, the Globe and Mail, and The Irish Times. He is a professor emeritus at the University of King's College in Halifax, where he teaches in the MFA in Creative Nonfiction program.
